Detach from Drama™ The Launch Series

The premier launch experience introducing the Detach from Drama™ framework within the broader Global IOC ecosystem.

Program Overview

I didn’t set out to build a leadership framework. I built Detach from Drama for coaches, a tool for the one-on-one work, helping clients see their own reactive patterns in the room with me.

Then leaders started bringing me a different problem. Not “help me understand my own reactivity,” something closer to “I don’t know how to lead a room where one person’s anxiety becomes everyone’s anxiety by 10 a.m.” Emotional contagion. It wasn’t a coaching-relationship problem anymore. It was a systems problem.

So I built toward that, a framework for managing contagion once it had already taken hold in a team.

And then I saw what I’d actually missed.

By the time contagion is visible, you’re not preventing anything. You’re standing in a fire that’s already spread. Even strong emotional intelligence work tends to start here: name the feeling, regulate it, don’t suppress it, don’t let it leak sideways. All useful. All downstream.

The real point of intervention isn’t the emotion. It’s the interpretation that produced it, the split-second reading of a situation that happens before anyone even knows they’re activated. By the time someone recognizes they’re emotional, the meaning-making has already occurred and the reaction is already loaded.

Detach from Drama™ doesn’t start with the emotion. It starts with what happens before it.

Who This Is For

If you’re a coach, this gives you language for what you already sense in session, that a client’s reaction rarely matches the size of the event that triggered it. Detach from Drama gives you the earlier entry point: not “how are you feeling,” but “what did you decide this meant.”

If you’re a leader, you already know the moment. Someone walks into a meeting rattled, and by lunch, three other people are rattled too, and nobody can point to what actually happened. That’s not a personality problem on your team. That’s contagion, and it started upstream of the emotion, in an interpretation nobody examined.

If you’re an organization trying to build healthier communication and accountability, you’ve probably already tried the downstream fixes: better feedback training, conflict resolution workshops, emotional intelligence programs. They help. They also tend to arrive after the reaction is already loaded, which is why the same patterns keep resurfacing no matter how many workshops you run.

Detach from Drama™ is for anyone who’s tired of managing the fire and ready to understand what lit it.

The Detach from Drama™ Framework

Most workplace drama gets diagnosed by the roles people fall into, Victim, Persecutor, Rescuer, a model that’s shaped coaching and leadership work for decades. It’s useful. It names what drama looks like once it’s already underway.

But it doesn’t explain what puts someone in a role in the first place: why one person reads a delayed email as neglect, and someone else reads the identical email as nothing at all. That gap is where Detach from Drama™ lives. Before there’s a role, there’s an interpretation, a split-second read of what just happened, filtered through assumption, history, and whatever lens was already loaded before the person walked into the room. The role gets chosen there, not in the conversation that follows.

The framework moves in the order the pattern actually unfolds:

  1. Meaning-Making & Interpretation The actual starting point, and the one almost nothing else examines. This is the moment the issue gets decided, before anyone’s said a word or felt a thing. Detach from Drama™ starts here, because this is the real decision point.
  2. Emotional Reactivity & Trigger Awareness Where the emotion becomes visible, the physiological and psychological response that follows the interpretation, not the event itself. Most emotional intelligence work begins here. Useful, but by now the interpretation has already happened. The reaction is already loaded; the work at this layer is recognizing it in real time instead of being run by it.
  3. Narrative Patterns & Internal Dialogue Left unexamined, the interpretation hardens into a story that gets rehearsed and reinforced until it’s mistaken for fact, “they always do this,” “nobody backs me up.” This is where a single moment becomes a fixed identity.
  4. Emotional Contagion & Team Climate Where one person’s uninspected interpretation becomes everyone’s Tuesday. It doesn’t stay contained between two or three people, it spreads through a team the way anxiety spreads through a room, until an entire culture is organized around roles nobody consciously chose.

Detach from Drama™ doesn’t stop at naming the roles. It goes to what generates them, and follows the pattern all the way out to the organizational system, not just the interpersonal moment.

The Entry Point

Download Chapter 1 of Detach from Drama™ and complete the Free Initial Reactivity Snapshot Assessment, a first look at where you’re already being cast into a pattern before you’ve even decided to play one. This isn’t a personality quiz. It’s a starting map of your own interpretation habits.

The Four Engagement Options

The PAUSE Model™ Intensive

July 15, 11 AM-Noon EST

Most tools for interrupting reactivity arrive once the emotion is already live. The PAUSE Model™ goes one layer earlier: a real-time framework for catching the interpretation before it hardens into a reaction, so you can choose your response instead of finding yourself already inside one.

Format: 60-Minute Live Virtual Masterclass

The Focus: Learning the direct mechanics of the PAUSE Model™ to catch meaning-making in real time and interrupt the pattern before it sets.

Outcome: Increased self-awareness, stronger communication control under pressure, and a practical tool for catching drama at its actual origin point, not after it’s already spread.

Investment: $99 per person - Register for the Pause Model Intensive

The Masterclass Series
Three standalone masterclasses, each addressing a different layer of how drama actually forms, from the interpretation that starts it, to the reaction and the story it becomes if left unexamined, to the contagion that spreads it through a team. Take the one that speaks to where you are right now, take two, or take all three. Your choice.

Masterclass 1: Meaning-Making & Interpretive Awareness
July 22 - 2-3:30 PM EST

A direct report goes quiet in a meeting. By the next day, half your team has a theory about why: disengaged, checked out, upset about the reorg, and none of it has been confirmed. As a leader, you’re not just managing what happened. You’re managing what everyone decided happened, often before you’ve had a chance to find out. This masterclass gives you the tool to slow that down, in your team, and in yourself, before an unconfirmed story starts running the room

Investment: $199 - Register for Masterclass One

Masterclass 2: The Reaction, and the Story It Becomes
July 29 - 2-3:30 PM EST
Someone pushes back hard in a meeting, and you watch the temperature in the room change in real time: one person gets defensive, another shuts down, a third starts smoothing things over before anyone’s actually said what’s true. That’s the fast version: reactivity, visible in seconds. As a leader, you’re often the only one positioned to catch that shift before it escalates.
But if a reaction like that goes unexamined long enough, it doesn’t fade, it hardens into a story. A talented person on your team keeps saying some version of “nobody ever gives me the real opportunities here,” and the story feels true to them, because they can point to evidence. What they can’t see is how the story itself is shaping what they notice, what they attempt, and what they eventually give up on.

This masterclass covers both moments, the reaction in the room, and the story it becomes if it’s never named. You’ll learn how to read reactivity as it surfaces, so you can steady a room instead of getting swept into it, and how to help someone see they’re living inside a narrative that isn’t taking them where they actually want to go, without ever telling them their experience wasn’t real.

Investment: $199 - Register for Masterclass Two

Masterclass 3: Emotional Contagion & Team Climate
August 5 - 2-3:30 PM EST
One person walks into standup rattled. By lunch, three more people are rattled, and you’re the one left wondering why the whole team feels off, without ever tracing it back to the moment it started. This is the problem leaders come to this work to solve, and the reason most interventions fail is they arrive after the contagion has already spread. This masterclass gives you the tools to see it forming and intervene at the source, before it becomes “just how this team is.”

Investment: $199 Register for Masterclass Three

Masterclass Outcomes: Greater emotional awareness, reduced reactive leadership patterns, and the ability to recognize drama forming before you’re standing inside it.

Investment: $199 per individual Masterclass
Complete 3-Part Bundle: $537

THE EXPERT ACCELERATOR: Detox from Drama™

For Leaders, Coaches, and Professionals Ready for Direct Behavioral Application

Recognizing a reactive pattern in a masterclass is a powerful starting point, but interrupting it in the middle of a high-pressure meeting is where the real work happens. If you don't just want to understand drama but are ready to completely clear out the hidden interpretive habits that trigger it, this comprehensive hybrid program is your container.

This is the full behavioral integration experience designed for those who want direct, targeted support applying the framework to their actual real-world conflicts, teams, and organizations.

·       Full Curriculum Access: Unrestricted entry to the Expanded 3-Part Masterclass Series handouts that trace drama from individual meaning-making all the way to collective team contagion.

The Organizational Team Sprint

For executive teams, intact leadership groups, or departments where the same conflicts keep re-forming no matter who’s involved, a sign the pattern lives in the system, not just the individuals.

Format: Custom Team Facilitation + Tailored Leadership Coaching + Organizational Communication Mapping

The Experience Teams identify where reactive patterns are forming, who tends to land where, and what interpretive habits keep putting them there. Together, participants co-design healthier communication structures and accountability rhythms that address the origin point, not just the visible conflict.

Outcome: Improved communication consistency, reduced relational friction, and a team that can name a forming drama pattern before it organizes the whole culture.

Investment: Custom Organizational Pricing Based on Team Scope and Facilitation Design

The Digital Backbone: The Detach from Drama™ Hub

Awareness fades fast under pressure. You can catch your own interpretation in a masterclass and still miss it completely three days later, in the actual meeting, when it matters. Lasting change doesn’t come from the insight, it comes from what happens the next time you’re standing in the moment the insight was about.

For program participants, the Detach from Drama™ Hub is where that practice lives between sessions. It’s not a resource library to browse. It’s a place to keep catching the pattern in real situations, long after the live masterclass ends.

Depending on the selected program or engagement, participants may receive access to:

  • Guided reflection exercises tied to real situations as they come up, not hypothetical scenarios
  • A way to track your own interpretation patterns over time, so you start to see your specific triggers, not generic ones
  • Accountability prompts that catch you closer to the moment, instead of days later in hindsight
  • Digital worksheets built around the three masterclasses, for whichever ones you’ve taken
  • Continued support between sessions and coaching engagements

Access timelines and Hub resources vary by program offering and level of engagement.
